KANSAS CITY COUNTERTOP REPAIR
Frequently Asked Questions
Do natural stone countertops require sealing?
All natural stones need to be sealed. Marble, travertine, and other types of soft stone must be kept well sealed or they may stain. Sealing also makes regular cleaning more productive.
If my stone countertop has a polished finish, does it still need to be sealed?
Most marble, granite and some travertine and even slate is available with a factory polished finish. These polished stones are still porous, subject to staining, and should be sealed.
Can stone countertops be resurfaced?
Over time, stone countertops will absorb residue from detergents and oils. Water leaves behind minerals that can be absorbed into the surface leaving a dull and lackluster appearance. If this has happened to your natural or engineered stone countertop, we can help with that. Kansas City Countertop Repair will come to your home and sand your granite countertops to restore the original sheen.
What is an effective cleaning product for everyday cleaning of my stone countertops?
Just use a clean cotton cloth or microfiber cloth with water and a mild, non-chemical liquid detergent to wipe it down.
Can all countertop repairs be done at my home?
Keep in mind that we can not complete ALL stone & engineered stone countertop repair work. On occasion, the countertop repair may need to be done in our shop instead. This may cut down on the cost of repairing the granite depending on how much fabrication time is needed to complete the repair.
Can Kansas City Countertop Repair fix any furniture granite pieces that have broken in the middle of a move?
We have had a few moving companies call us lately to determine if we can fix any furniture granite pieces that have broken in the middle of a move for one of their customers. Regrettably, we cannot repair granite tops that are original to furniture pieces because those granite tops have been specifically manufactured to that furniture. Once it is damaged, there is really nothing we can do except fabricate a new piece of granite to replace the broken one. We don’t install the granite on to the furniture either…we can simply just cut and fabricate the granite top.
How can I schedule a countertop repair appointment?
